Am I losing my mind?

Eggs are in a lockdown, day 19 today. Of course I look through the incubator window all the time

Once in a while I hear chirping. Can a chicken chirp inside the egg???? I see no cracks or anything.

Yes, they breathe air once they pip into the internal air sac and can then peep. Mine do it too, although it's very quiet and hard to hear over the fan, unless a couple are doing it. I have three eggs peeping and wobbling at each other all afternoon and only one pip this evening, I was checking on progress and saw it blast a hole in the shell!

Lol, I'm on the same day doing the same thing!
I think you can hear chirps when they pip the internal air sac so could well be what your hearing.

The first time I hatched I forgot which day was lockdown and went to turn the eggs one last time and heard chirping. At first I thought it was my parakeets until I realized it was coming from the egg!! I immediately put it back and added water and it hatched the next day.
