First time chick mama here. This is an 8 week old GLW from Meyer hatchery. Any chance it’s a pullet as we were told when purchased?? Thanks for your help!

Wyandottes can be tricky. Looks like a cockerel, but I've also seen GLW pullets get red early.

Agreed - now I would lean pullet, but a couple of weeks will tell the tale.

I think it's a cockerel, but it is definitely worth waiting another couple of weeks to be sure.

Possible female, but not certain.

we had straight run GLW, 2 were male, 2 female. Here they are at 6 weeks:

they have a lot of color at 6 weeks, even the females are pinking up.

a couple more weeks should make it more clear.
