Anyone have this problem?

Two of our hens died suddenly last week, no signs, etc. The State Vet called (wasn't home) and said they tested positive for an infectious disease. She didn't elaborate because she wanted to talk in person. I'm going crazy because I have to wait until tomorrow to talk to her. We have not had a new bird in our run in a year, nothing that I can think of that would make them sick. Has anyone had this problem? I'm upset because I don't want her to tell me to kill all my birds, which are perfectly fine. Help.

why would it only kill two birds and leave the rest healthy? We did have stupid weather last week. Snow on Monday, cold on Tuesday and horribly wet and damp on Thursday. They died on Thursday.

There are a number of infectious diseases in chickens. You need to ask your State vet for the necropsy results so you know what it is you're dealing with and then go from there with making a decision as to whether or not you'll treat or cull. Best of luck.
