Yeah but you can never have too many ducks...lol

Ours sit under the bedroom window and quack all night lol.

Well now see that's why you need some mallards, so they will teach them good manners mine only quack during the day..lol

im in the eastern panhandle and am fairly new 2 chickens and about a week into our new found duck obsession!! darn tsc had standard size chicks and duck and i was leaving with something....but my coop isnt big enough for standards so we brought home duckies. i have frizzles and cochins mainly and a crooked neck polish.

i am starting to get into the serma breed. i have 2 hatching out in about a week and i just bought a week old chick for mine from the 1st hatch (sadly he died and im left with one fiesty little serma and 2 on the way hopefully)

my question... does anyone have sermas near me.. or frizzles or ducks??

pm me if ur close.

Great meeting tonight with the Kanawha County Farm Bureau. Roy, our NPIP guy invited all the chicken people for a reason. The speaker was Jerry Ours. Jerry is the WV Dept of Ag Poultry and environmental specialist. He had a whole presentation on chickens that was very informative.

Jerry also said that any one in WV with a bird that is sick can call him. They will send a rep out and test the bird for free. His number is 304-538-2397 - Office and 304-257-3028 -cell. He welcomes calls from chicken owners.

Jerry also said that any groups interested in having him come speak should call him, he will be glad to give the presentation to others.

:)Hi, Is there a Mountaineer out there from Mercer County. We live in Camp Creek, WV and have EE and ameraucanas. Hopefully, soon, we will only have purebred ameraucanas. I am especially partial to the lavender color. We also have a white jack, spotted draft horse, team of haflinger/hackneys, haflinger mare, 3 turkeys, 10 guineas and 3 adopted geese that travel from our place to the neighbors, on the creek. We have two little chihuahuas that are our babies since our others flew the coop. I am looking for some more lavender ameraucanas if anyone of you have some with good egg color.
