Are there any diseases that can be transmitted through eggs?

Maybe a dumb question but I'm curious to know which diseases (virus or bacterium) can be transferred to humans by eating infected eggs. As I can imagine, our chickens could run across infectious bronchitis, salmonella, staphylococcus infections (and so on..) throughout their lives

Moreover I read somewhere on the net that is a good practice to wash your hands after having touched the eggs because if the hen is sick, the eggshell is probably covered by bacteria/virus

Yes, if you are talking about the uncooked eggshell acting as a fomite for disease transmission, than I suspect that any zoonotic that chickens can have and that is transmissible through skin contact (or mucus membranes, if you happen to touch them) is a possibility.
