Mornin' everyone

:goodpost:

Any homes out there if they are free and I'll bring them to you if you are in the Phoenix area, or in Tucson, or anywhere in-between?
They are starting to crow.

I think I have a bcm rooster as well. He's about 16 weeks old. Looks like a he but is not crowing. Which I'm happy about because I would tHe to get rid of him my bcm pullet and he are very attached to each other. I'm thinking of trying the cockadoodledo collar.
Have you seen it. I've also heard a 3-4 inch band of Velcro would work also to stifle the crow.

I don't think the Velcro collar works to well.. :he
I did tighten it up.. I also started using it 1 month or so into his crowing.. It was a week crow.. I might tighten it one more time.. I will get back to ya all..

@jackiezim Go with the velcro - costs less & works better. I bought the collar & my roo took it off in 2 minutes. I kept putting it on him & he ended up getting faster taking it off. Took him 2 seconds the last time I tried it. Went to Joanns & bought 1/2 yd of 2" wide velcro & it works! I have it on him because he has the most annoying crow - sounds like a woman screaming while being strangled. My other roos have pleasant crows & they don't have collars on them.

What about the pitch? Can you record and post?

HORNWORMS HAVE ARRIVED!

While topping off the sump tank in my greenhouse yesterday, I spotted what looked like mesquite seed pods floating in the water. On closer inspection, they turned out to be drowned caterpillars of the tomato hornworm species. BUT, these were 5 and 6 inches long and about 1/2 inch diameter! Did they just swell up in the water? I did a quick search and only found one live one, about an inch long and 1/8" diameter on the bottom of a tobacco leaf. Will post a pic in a minute......

Now there's some good ol'' chicken food.. :woot

I raised halter/pleasure AQHA horses for 20 years. I'm not able to ride and I'm in college so finances are tight. We just rent a little acre plus place in Picture Rocks. I have 2 nice mares that are my great great grand children out of my favorites. They are just pets but I really have baby fever so hopefully I can breed them next spring.

Raised AQHA and paint horses for years.  Showed halter - stock seat equitation and hunt seat equitation.  Was a show judge and the AZ Paint Horse Assoc. Secretary for several years.  Don't do that any more but we do draft and half-draft horse rescue and rehabilitation. Teach horsemanship, riding and proper horse care and volunteer as a teacher for Horses With Heart Organization that uses horses to rehab children with physical and mental limitations here in Chino Valley. Took over the job of draft/half-draft rescue from Dream Works because they moved their operation to Oregon. Collect animals - chickens, cats, rabbit, horses, etc. and my husband keeps waiting for the elephant to arrive.

Wow, that is way cool..

I've ridden hunters and jumpers mostly. Although I haven't competed in dressage, I've done a bit of training, although not at the high levels. I've never had a horse to learn tempe changes, pirouettes, piaffe, passage, etc. I love thoroughbreds and hope someday to get an off-the-track-TB to rehab and train. I would love to try eventing and have lessoned with a few eventer trainers, but just have never gotten to event. Unfortunately, this is the last year for Grass Ridge in Sonoita. Me at Devon with my OTTB, Merchant of Venice (1995-an oldie but goodie) More recently, on Leo, my friend's older OTTB at the Pima County Fairgrounds.
Love the photo's..
