Baby chick has wound under beak (Photo)

Found little Peep this morning with somewhat of a sore under his beak? Otherwise seems totally fine/normal. Should I separate her from the others? It’s hard/dried so there’s no active bleeding. I can’t tell if any of them have been picking on her. She has no other spots/sores on her. Any suggestions??

I also read a few other forums on here. I used a dab of bag balm on the red spot. It was really dry almost cracked even. She didn’t seem like it bothered her that I was touching it. So hopefully she’ll be better tomorrow.

The bag balm should help. As long as the others aren’t pecking at her, she should be fine.

Yeah it’s on the bottom by where her waddles are forming. Weird. I’ll take another photo in the morning after the night. They are all around the same age and I haven’t seen any pecking going on.

Should be fine, keep up the treatment if it's working. Though remove her if you start seeing them pecking at it.

I’m keeping her separate just for tonight to see if it heals a little and when I add her back tomorrow I will be around more and can pay closer attention to the pecking

I think she’ll be fine, but maybe a dab of antibiotic ointment like neosporin would be wise. It almost looks like she poked herself on some wire, like hardware cloth. Is that a possibility?
