What is the sandbox for? Just for fun or do they know to go the bathroom in there? I'm new at this!

For them to play in and for them to get their grit because i don't buy grit. They need grit to help digest their food so the little stones and sand i guess help with digestion.

i have 5 rir and on red star 2 of my rir babies which are 21 days old have red tips on their top beak other than that they are identical to the rest does the red tip have any significance ?
