Baby Chick with missing toenail

Interesting, I purchased 4 Delaware hens and one I named Toes because on one foot there is almost no nail on the middle toe, and the other one is a weird sticky uppy nail! I think it' genetic, has not changed in over a year.

Hi. I have a 5 day old chick with a missing toenail. Is this common? Will it grow back? Thanks

I think it's a tempature thing when they are born, i have a batch of chicks that hatched before spring and almost all of them have strange toes and no nails. One of them hatched with the extra toes on the back and they dried up and fell off the next day. They don't seem to care because they don't know any different. All happy and healthy, just smaller than they should be by now. Again i think it was too cold when they were developing
