Hey y’all. So today my mom found a baby dove laying in the yard. We looked around above it and found what was left of the nest. A little bit later I found the other baby (it was covered in ants) and what was left of one of the parents.

It looks healthy, I think it’s around a week old.

I fed it an applesauce/peanut butter mixture but I don’t know what else to do. Right now it’s sitting in a little makeshift grass nest with a miniature stuffed turkey. Also, it is pooping so I guess that’s a good thing.

I do have some questions though…

Will it need supplemental heat during the night? (It’s around 80-90 degrees during the day and 60-70 at night)
Am I feeding it the right stuff?
What else do I need to do?

I’m attaching some pictures, please help. I have no idea what I’m doing.

Please bring it to a wildlife rehabber and do not attempt a DIY rehab.
It is not being fed or heated properly. What you are doing is illegal if this is a mourning dove or other native species (~90% likely)
