Bald Spots In Baby Chick!! Any help please??

That is exactly what ours looked like! I was so stressed ove it, but it turned out to be normal. Our 10 chickens are thriving, although they do tend to gang up on one another at times. They are about 10 months old now.

Glad to hear your flock is doing so well now. Hopefully it's just a case of 'ugly duck syndrome' & she'll grow into a fine looking hen... Cheers!

I have a chick about 5 weeks old completely feathered except a patch on her chest. Nothing is wrong with her except a big crop during the day but it digests by morning. Any help??

i could be wrong, but you say it has a full crop for the whole day? it might be that it drags against the floor and that could do it. Its common for broilers to have the bottom portion of their bodies to be bald since they are always dragging it. is that a cornish chick?

I haven't seen her dragging on the ground but I have seen her take a dust bath occasionally. And she is a gold laced wynodotte.

Piggy backing into this old question....is this normal? They are three weeks old and I have not seen any other chick ‘bullying’ this little guy. This is my only one like it. I did have it separated for a while and it’s pooping looks healthy. But the bum does seem to have a film/ substance on it. Not sure what do though (it’s clear). Chick is acting normal. Eating and drinking normally. Any thoughts?
