i am hoping to get bantams soon but am not sure if they need a high fence,or if 4 ft. high works.

Are roosters extremely loud in the morning

I keep my bantams in a 4 foot fence. If they start to fly, I just clip a wing and problem solved. They really do like to hear themselves crow but they are not as loud as my LF roos.

Yes, chickens can eat apples. I prefer to core mine but, others just toss them into the run and let the chickens peck them apart. Mine refuse to eat the peelings so it's just easier to cut them in half and get rid of the core since the seeds aren't really good for them anyway.
