So moving to this property we found we had been left a small flock including a OEG rooster and a mix of hens (EEs, Buff Orp, and a pure white amerucauna?). We hatched eggs with interesting results and all made sense genetically speaking, except the one. I named him Roast Chicken for the red that slowly grew over his saddle, but I cant seem to find any description of what his colors mean. He's our guardian bird for our free rangers, even tempered and will jump on your arm for a treat, but he makes me so curious! If anyone can help me decrypt him it would be so helpful. He's not a breeder, but is a part of the family. Second photo is his father.

This was his Sire, Cogburn RIP.

Is there a reason for the inverse lacing on his chest? I have heard it called flitter but havent seen much info on it. He's just my puzzle bird.

Thanks

Never heard of flitter. When it comes to breeding anything with Easter eggers you never know what is in their background. They are a hodge podge of genetics themselves.
