Can anyone offer some basic guidelines on keeping chickens lice, worm, mite free? Are there steps you can take to prevent this on a regular basis? I hear, apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, DE??, dusting. Would love to avoid creepy bugs etc. BEFORE they get into my flock. First time, chicks coming next week!!

when they begin to dust and dig there little dust holes you can add hardwood ashes to there holes that will help alot to

All of what you just mentioned, plus in the coop, use a natural orange oil based bug killer like Orange Guard sold by ACE hardware. When you are cleaning the coop, it is sprayed into all cracks and crevices, wont harm the birds and smells great.
