Been reading for a while and can't figure this one out. So far I have hatched with broodies, but I am thinking about getting a cabinet incubator. Some of the incubators have a hatching tray at the bottom. I know most people who hatch a lot have a separate hatcher, but cost is a concern for me. Is there a disadvantage to hatching in the bottom tray? I assume that when you raise humidity prior to lockdown, that the humidity would increase throughot the entire incubator. Does this cause a problem with the rest of the eggs? This increase in humidity would last about 4 days.

Thanks.

Well I don't think you need an separate hatcher since most people don't open the incubater until all of them are fluffy and dry but it's all up to you so don't depend on my answer cause I'm a beginner to incubating to

Thanks for the reply. A "hatching basket"? I will have to check into that. Still have more to learn on incubators. There's a lot of discussion on humidity!!!
