hello. We live in Manhattan and rescued an adorable sweet barnevelder hen that was homeless. She is sweet and cuddly and definitely identifies with a human flock much more than with other chickens. We’ve introduced her to other chickens three times and, maybe because she identifies with humans or because she is a smaller breed, she is always picked on. But an apartment is not an ideal place to raise a chicken. We love her dearly and are hoping she can find a new home nearby where she can continue to lay happily and peck and scratch in the dirt all day and we would be able to visit her every now and then. Please email me at [email protected] if you can assist. Thank you!
