Best chicken reference book?

I was looking at this thread for any suggestions on possible ebooks. I have a kindle and like reading on it. I do enjoy hard copy books but they are usually very expensive. I do research topics on the BYC forum but it would be nice to have everything organized and in one spot. I'm particularly interested in topics such as predator proof coops, organic eggs, hatching eggs and different breeds. Have any of you bought a book that you're happy with and are willing to recommend?

I couldn't find a good affordable reference book on raising chickens so I wrote my own. Check out "The Beginners Guide To Raising And Caring For Chickens"

Any recommendations on a good chicken general reference book to have on hand?
Something that contains all the common do's, don't, ailments, chick to hen development, etc. (Prefer one available on Thriftbooks)
If you plan to keep your chickens in the old fashioned, especially free-range, backyard way, rather than in a domestic version of a contemporary commercial operation, there are some good old reference books written before or just as modern methods were being introduced, available freely online, e.g.

Each of these examples is from a different online library, which you can search for other items they hold in eform.

Thanks for your suggestions. I did do some research and found some good info. I took what I knew and beefed it up with some of what I learned through research and wrote my own book. I posted the title in an above post. Most of the sources you suggested would have certainly made my book better. At some point I may need to do an updated version.
