which is a better layer a Austrolorp or a Delaware. I want to increase my flock and want the best brown egg layer.

Australorps usually lay better than Delawares.

Black stars and Cinnamon Queens will lay almost every day.

My Australorps give me massive brown eggs. And they are sweet as Chocolate Silk Pie too, males and females. I've never owned Delawares so I can't make a comparison for you there.

I will never own another aussie. I had 10 and everyone was crazy. My neighbor had them and got rid of them also. They are flighty and really dumb. If I let everyone out in the yard, they can't or won't come back. I have never owned a Del. so I can't say anything about them. I keep reds for laying. If you spend time with them as babies, they become really good pets. The roosters I won't keep more than 18 mo. because even the sweet ones get nasty. I love my birds and spoil them, but the Aussie's never got friendly..
