These are great for chicken treats to just be fed or you can use the original batch to start your own colony. There are some great threads on here as well as google for systems. We are in FL so we utilize our natural environment and don't have pens/systems. They come back every year but they are seasonal. We have them under almost all of our cages/coops as well as our compost pile and they are amazing. The thing I like most is they cut down on nuisance flies. The BSF eat the larvae of nuisance flies once their population is established! They're great for composting fast as well as having on hand chicken treats.
