I have been finding random droplets of blood all over my quail hutch since Tuesday. It happened earlier in the week, stopped, and then has happened again today.

My main suspect is Hercules, my female jumbo quail. She has got blood on her left foot. Is it because of wire flooring? I doubt the others are picking on her. I can get better photos of her foot if necessary.

It looks like there might be something underneath her foot.

She laid an egg last night but hadn't laid for 2 days before that. What can I do to help? Does she need medical attention? Do I need more photos of her foot?
I'm planning on weighing them later so I'll take a better look at it then.

Do you handle her too much?
Stress can be one of the issues she isn't laying daily.
Diet is the other.

Where is the blood coming from?

I think it is coming from her foot. She eats premium gamebird layer feed, and I don't handle her often. It is middle of winter and she only just started laying.

Turns out it wasn't Hercules. It was Spot, who obviously has some sort of tumor on her foot. More info on my post in the 'Emergencies, diseases, injuries and cures' forum. Please help
