The Blount County 4-H Poultry Project will host its annual Chicken Show and Auction on Saturday, August 23rd at Heritage High School in Maryville, TN. The judging will begin at 11:15 with the auction to follow at approximately 12:00 noon. There will (4) breeds available, Rhode Island Red, Barred Rocks, Red sex-links, and Black sex-links. All chickens were hatched the last week of March.
Birds will be auctioned in lots of (4) or (6) with the auction price being per bird. So if your winning bid for a lot of (4) birds is $12, the total charge will be $48. There are no buyer premiums and all the money raised from the auction is used to buy chicks for next year's project.
