Bobwhite questions

I've been trying to find something to replace my disappointing venture in A&M quail. Heck, I have all the cages, feeders, waterers.......

How large do the Jumbo Bobs get?

Is the meat white (in the breast)??

Any thoughts on the idea???

I am thinking of raising for meat but I might also raise some of the native ones (native to MN) for release (with the DNR's approval)

Ok Im not sure about jumbo bobs I have northern bobs/georgia giant bobs and butler bobs
Northerns are of reg size birds
GG 10 or so oz. and bigger
Butlers jury is still out
Bobs are white meat in breast imo all around
Compaired to coturnix which are darker meat the bobs are all white meat considering
They take about twice as long to mature as coturnix
Taste imo there is no comparison
Yes they will or should raise in pens you had your previous birds in
They are not white in feather color no
My breeders are in 12x12 breeder cages

Small birds and dark meat. They were just white quail, no signs of the allusive A&M bird

I run mine 1 roo 1 hen in my breeder cages
1 roo 3 hen in community cages
In that small a space sometimes you'll have heightened aggression with more than one hen with bobs
As far as the a&m many others have succumbed to trickery your not alone
Just because they have white feathers doesn't mean they are a&m's
