We’ve had a hawk get two hens in two days. I hate it and I hate leaving them locked up. But our rooster, Beef Supreme, a large beilefelder has fought off this hawk three maybe four times this week. His comb is a little beat up and he has saved his hens 3 out of the four times. I’m locking them up for now because I can’t handle any more loses and this guy needs his rest.

Probably a good idea as it's only a matter of time until he becomes injured.

He is one brave rooster. Also lucky.
Bless his little big heart! You've got a good rooster! It's getting close to spring also, so many of the predator's will need to be also feeding any offspring that they have.

As a chick he was huge and my husband started calling him Beef Supreme.I'm dying with laughter over the fact that his name is Beef Supreme.

I don’t think we are going to hatch an eggs this year. I just don’t have the heart to get rid of more roosters. Maybe in time I can do it.

! I wish roosters were legal in my town 
! I wish roosters were legal in my town I meant that the hawk's and other predator's will be having young to feed.
