In the Brooder

Hello,

Mid April I got these for chickens at 1-2 weeks old. I was told the brooder was a mix of Olive eggers and Easter eggers. They would be around 5-6 weeks old now. Is there a way to tell Olive egger from Easter egger to know which is which? And I’m leaning toward all of them being pullets but curious if I'm missing something. I tried to get the best pictures I could

Thanks in advance!

Look like pullets-congrats!

Rule of thumb I'd say the black/dark one would be an OE. Seems like lots of OEs are Black Copper Marans crosses, so the first generation of a dark brown/blue egg layer would likely be black or black copper. Second generation would be harder to predict based on what's in that cross.

That said, OEs could be any pattern as well, depending on the dark brown layer- Welsummer, Cuckoo Marans, White Marans, Birchen... But these would be less likely- although Welsummer OEs appear to be gaining momentum.

Overall, it's just great you have all pullets!
