I have a few in the yard that look exactly like the cockerel and pullet. Below is the father.

The father looked the same as your cockerel too. Golden Phoenix.

Your young cockerel will become like mine; or even lovelier. I think my golden Phoenix is beautiful. Beautiful gold-wonderful hackle and saddle feathers. His tail is his drawback-held way too high and looks almost like two tails in one. The lower tail feathers drag the ground like they should and then he has this high sickle feathering. My reds and whites have much nicer tails, but their coloring in no way compares to the gold; in my opinion.

So, in a couple months your cockerel will be much lovelier!

I have a good dozen phoenix roosters and cockerels free ranging; all get along well with a minimum of fighting. My phoenix are docile and friendly; every single one.
