Breeding lavender orpingtons

So I just ordered some lav orp pullets and a roo, and I’m interested in maybe breeding them but would like to know more about it. Anybody have any tips or experience with it that would maybe help!?

Lav Orps are large, very fluffy feathered chickens. With this being said breeding can be like two basketballs getting together. Something difficulty getting a good hold can have the male rolling over the top or dismounting. Having everything line up can also be an issue. Keep an eye on them to make sure they are getting it right and candle your eggs to make sure they are fertile.

I have Lavender Orps and they breed just fine. It took my roo a couple times to figure out what he was doing, but now I have 100% fertile rate. I have one roo with four hens. Just be patient with them.
