I want to work on breeding a show quality line of porcelain colored Dutch Bantams. Is it best to just keep breeding porcelain to porcelain? My understanding is Porcelain is Lavender X Mille Fleur. But, Lavender is recessive a diluted black to lavender color. So if crossed porcelain to Mille Fleur the porcelain won't present itself until F2 crossed back to a Porcelain. Would it help to add in Self Blue/Lavender Dutch into the mix maybe to the F2 crosses or am I muddying up everything?

Porcelain is just milliefluer with a lavender tint over it. If you want to improve both feather quality and pattern introduce a nice quality Millie when you see the problem arise. For some reason lavender genes can cause poorer feather quality however that can be negated with on occasion breeding in a black bird of quality.
