Hi there fellow chicken enthusiasts! I am really new to this business and have been obsessed with reading and watching videos on what possible genders and breeds my bundles of fluff could be. I know that the sexing methods aren't really something that can be trusted and that I should wait for the precious 4-6 week mark to look for comb/waddle redness development, but I was wondering what you guys might think. See who guesses correctly! :D I have 5 chicks in total and have included 4 pics of each.

I got them from my great-uncle's farm where he has many breeds just free-ranging around a huge area so we really have no idea what these little guys could be! I will post some pictures of each of them to the best of my ability.

They vary between 1-2 weeks old.

Five might be a brown Leghorn

Four might be a lavender Orpington or splash Austrolorp

Three might be a lavender of some kind or a mix

Two might be a black Australorp or Barred Plymouth Rock

And one is a mystery to me

How correct do you think I might be? 😁
I don't know, I'm guess ing that the chicks are likely mixes since it's "many breeds running around" and it's unlikely that there was breeding pens. Your guess is as good as mine.

Too early to say yet. Wait for them to hit seven weeks.
It's best to be very picky with or avoid blogs and media regarding chicken info, most of it is hogwash. :]
Yeah, I'm aware that wing sexing, pattern checking, pecking order, foot size, feathering speed, and comb development are near impossible to work out this early on! :D I'll have to be patient but it's fun to have a guess :D
