when can i start taking the light of my chicks ?

Typically, when they have most of their feathers. Mine are in an outside run and most have their feathers and are flying. They will be four weeks old this Friday so I plan to remove the light then. I turn it off during the day anyway because it's so HOT here now. They are starting to look like little dinosaurs!

Usually after about 4 weeks they should be feathered out enough especially since it's so warm right now you can try turning it off during the day and on at night for a few days to wean them off just watch them to see if they are acting cold
