BROODER thread! Post pics of your brooders!

I am using a storage tote with a hardware cloth top, we have it set up for the arrival on 6-9-09. I had to put a towel over the top half of it to get the temp where it needed to be, I think it will be fine.

Not too bad for a first timer, I got tons of great ideas from all you experienced folks out there. Thanks !

We used a large steralite container thingy and newspaper with paper towels on top as bedding...we have 21 banty chicks in it

Testing before the chicks came in (we later decided not to use the fluff as bedding because they kept eating it instead of the food)

I dunno but we're not using it anymore....I just moved them into a cardboard box that is quite a bit bigger.

looking for the post/pic of adding and taping boxes together as the chicks grow...

I really liked that! Seems so simple to add alot of space and then simply fold it up and get rid of it.

Here is my kiddy pool brooder.

two 175W heat lamps(my basement is a cool 65'F)
Chicks are on wood pellets
