Hello all, I believe I have a broody duck (or 2?) on my hands and I have questions.

I say I believe they’re broody because I’m not entirely sure. One is a Pekin(which I know rarely go broody) and one is an Anacona.

I candled some of the eggs they’re laying on and saw some veins so whether they intentionally trying to or not I’m not sure but my questions are this:

1. Do I leave them in the coop with the flock? I have 13 chickens and 4 ducks.

2. Can I still clean the coops around the nests? Their coop is in desperate need of cleaning.

3. Should I moved the food and water near them? They still get up and free range, and don’t stay on the nest 24/7 like I heard ducks mostly do.

4. Basically, any overall advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

I would leave them where they are - I have never successfully moved a setting duck. I would not disturb the coop while they are setting. I would not move the food near them. They should leave the nest daily to eat, drink, and especially defecate. Good luck for a successful incubation/hatch.
