broody goose question

I still am not sure for a few reasons if my toulouse goose is setting on fertile eggs. If they arent fertile, how long will she sit on them? Should I eventually take them from her? I have feed and water next to her now because she wont leave the nest now for nothing!! I sure hope I will have babies soon!!

Our geese generally will sit on all eggs till one starts stinking then she will push it out of the nest. You can candle them like chicken eggs but be sure you aren't attacked by the goose she can be highly protective. It is harder to see through the shell as well. I just leave my goose eggs be till they hatch and then check to see if the momma has abandon any near-to-hatching babies. Sometimes putting all the remaining eggs in a bator. Cause ya just never know. Ya might get lucky. lol
