Broody Hen Dies On Nest

it seems that my broody hen who was due to hatch today died of a heat stroke while on the nest....i went to the coop to check on her hatching and i found her dead on top of her eggs.....eggs were still warn so i added them to the bator that is due on the 11th and i've had 4 hatched already.....they were 13 eggs but only nine seemed to be alive.....i'm still hoping all hatch.....it's sad that she died on hatching date.......

we lost a hen not too long for cold shock, it was -60!! sorry about your baby

I am so sorry. It would be hard to deal with that. Makes the ones that hatch even more important due to mom gave everything she could for them. Again I am sorry.

I am very sorry for your loss, but you can look at it as a life ends and new ones begin. Sounds like she would have been a good mother.

thanks everyone for helping me get thru this time of sorrow.....she was a good hen and mother as well.....part of my gamefowl flock......she was 2 yrs old a blue splash color.....10 chicks hatched out of the 13 she had.......
