My hen has been sitting on 7 eggs. 5 of them should start hatching in a day or two. Four days after she started sitting on her eggs, my other two hens laid their eggs in her pile of eggs. I’m concerned that once her original eggs start hatching she won’t continue to sit on the last two eggs for a few more days. This happened before with other hens I had. My daughter says she read that the mother hen can communicate with the developing eggs, and maybe she knew the eggs had not developed. Has anyone heard this before?

i would say on average the eggs are moving and start making low level noise about 3-4 days before they hatch, i bet she's going to be able to tell, just keep her place quiet and cozy ...
