I just noticed the other day that Buckeye's have Cochin in their history. Very interesting.

I just ordered 15 last week. I want to try a dual purpose bird that is more of a meat bird than an egg bird (eggs are nice but just a fringe benefit). Today I noticed the livestock conservancy had a heritage manual for meat that focused on Buckeyes!

I've been experimenting with dual purpose heritage breeds trying to settle on one. These might be the ones - we'll see!
