We're preparing our coop for our chicks to move in and have noticed several little bugs on top of the nesting boxes and a couple other surfaces. I'm worried about mites and other pests but I'm having a hard time identifying the little buggers.
I've uploaded the best pictures I was able to get. Can anyone help ID them?
Do I need to do a thorough de-lousing of the entire coop or will the normal preventive measures be enough (good dust bath spot, maybe some DE in the shavings, etc.)?
A little more background, if it helps: the coop has been vacant for about 2 months and we didn't have any mite/pest issues with the chickens that lived there before.
Thanks!
