It is possible that this gets worse if you cut into it and aren't able to keep it clean while it heals.

But I don't think it will heal unless you get the pus out.

Pus is hard like...it's not like human's. You may have to make a small cut then squeeze it out.

ok I will get some sterile things together and try it then put neosporin on and wrap her again.
