Hey! My little yellow chickie had a silly squeaky voice, too! Her peeps reminded me of baby chicks with the volume turned down. She DID grow up a bit slower than her two siblings--she stayed about 5 days behind them in feather development, but was a very fat and juicy little baby.
Now she's grown up and white and VERY noisy (makes a real racket for treats) but her voice is still softer and higher than her siblings and her parents. No idea why.
