IMO, it's not a plant that you would propagate with seeds.  If you wanted to start some in a lawn, I'd recommend digging out a section of lawn about 12" diameter, and then planting the comfrey and mulching well.

I am not sure what we have is really a lawn. Fencing is bad or we'd graze it off.
 
Might be. It's been monsoon season here for the past three weeks. Even our neighbors have lost almost their entire garden to root rot because of all the rain.


Friend in Missouri says his got beat up yesterday in the storms.
My plants in Virginia would always get spots after the first two or three tomatos. I always thought i watered them along with normal rain caused it. Never asked VT to explain it- they were too busy feeding chicken litter to cows.
