This is different Guy this is backyard poultry magazine . She's writing a book too though I don't know what pics she's using or info she's using on that one . She mentioned a partridge pic for her book but I'm not sure from where or if that was in set in stone

What do you guys look for in your males? I have one that is huge compared to the others. One has excellent temperment. One shows the girls treats. They are all beautiful

Tried the new incubator finally. 5 of 7 eggs hatched, 6th egg pipped but then went quiet. I'm going to try again later in the week.
So what do you think?

Three pullets for sure. One cockerel and one undecided.

They look Great!

All things being equal, I go for size since they're supposed to be DP varieties. They will all have excellent temperament. I've never had a Penedesenca rooster attack me.
After that, all black, slate legs, white lobes, carnation comb.

Yes, you are likely correct. They are 85% sex-able by color so you cannot always tell.

After 3 weeks or so it will be clearer. The cockerels' combs will start growing but the pullets won't for a couple months.
