Can combs help determine sex?

These all came from the same place and time. Supposed to be Golden Laced Wyandottes. My question is: can you tell the sex by the comb at 3 weeks old?? Pictures are for reference of the two types of combs I have in the 7 chick crew. I have noticed that the flatter wider combs vary between pink/red color or black/brown. Im assuming red = rooster? Am i right to assume this?

Combs and wattles are one of the most accurate ways to determine gender in younger chicks. The younger the chick and the more developed the comb usually means cockerels. Pullets will have smaller, paller combs.

Wyandottes have rose combs, but single like the first one is not impossible (just undesired). Many find that rose combs are difficult to use for gender because they can redden sooner than single combs for instance. It’s much too soon to tell
