Can I still incubate my duck eggs….

My chickens have started laying again, so I’ve been gathering eggs. I have been saving my duck eggs to incubate once I can fill the thing. I was washing the chicken eggs (very dirty) to find that I had blue duck eggs from my new duck hens! I’d really love to hatch the blue ones…. Is it too late now that they’ve been rinsed off? Thanks in advance, Martina

Ps the duck eggs are the ones in the middle row.

You can *try* but you may have removed too much of the bloom, making them more susceptible to bacteria. I usually just brush off dried crud if I'm to incubate.

You can take this opportunity to see if they're fertile though. Crack a couple open to make yourself lunch. :)
Thanks. That’s what I was worried about. I’m swimming in eggs right now, so I could spare a few to a gamble. Still need just a few more before I start. Thanks again.
