Can my girls (and guys) eat this?????

So, in September we canned a big batch of applesauce.
This morning we opened one (which was still sealed, by the way) and it had a bit of mold on the top. We would not eat it ourselves, of course, but If I scooped off the yucky part, do you think my chickens could eat it??

I would not feed it to any animals. You see mold on the top, but the microscopic mycelium travel throughout the product and release toxins throughout it.

My rule = If I won't eat it, I won't give it to my chickens. Or dogs. Or cat.

They can take sick and die from the same bacteria and molds that will make us sick.

I eat snails and enjoy them tremendously. Especially with garlic and butter.

Worms? Haven't tried them but as long as they're fresh and wiggly and not moldy, I just might. I'll add a little garlic and butter, though. ;-)
