Can this work for a waterer too?

You can put those poultry nipples on just about anything, I've even seen them used on honey bottles! Whatever plastic item you find that would be food safe ie don't use a bottle that held a toxic chemical; would be fine. I have 2 gallon jugs and one 1/2 gallon jug for 22 birds. They only drink about 1/2 gallon between them on average. They don't drink as much as they seem to when they're mucking up a regular bell waterer. Then again my oldest birds are 4 months, so who knows when they grow up how much they'll drink. Have fun finding a waterer that suits your purposes!

Very cool, thank you

The cap must be airtight to be able to hold a vacuum. Someone on here made a good analogy to holding your finger on the end of a straw to hold water in the straw. I glued mine. I rinse out what I can reach with my hand when I refill. It will bother some knowing that you cannot clean the insides completely. It does not bother me or my chickosaurs.

And yes it works with excellent simplicity.
