Hi all. So here is the situation my chicks started coming down with cocci symptoms shortly after I started allowing them to go outside. I treated with corrid and symptoms disappeared I treated full strength for 5 days straight. Then again in a week. Things went along fine for a couple weeks then I start seeing blood in the poop. Again treated with corrid max strength 2 tablespoons per gallon changed daily for 5 days. Then again in a week. Again chickens seemed healthy no more blood. During this time I disinfected all food, waters, cages, and clean bedding before during and after treatment. Then chicks started having tapeworm symptoms so treated with fenbendazole max strength chickens recovered. Again everything sterilized and disinfected after treatment. Now my chicks are back to showing cocci signs so I am treating with corrid again. They are about 9 weeks old and a few that are younger. This started happening at about 4 weeks when I started allowing them to go outside. Have no previous chickens and I'm the first owner of this house. I do have wild birds in the backyard and dogs. So what is going on why do they keep getting cocci? They get probiotics, vitamins electrolytes every 3rd day are in starter feed medicated with poultry bloom mixed in, I feed mealworms as treats and chick grit. I clean their food and water daily as needed and bedding about once a week. No access to staples, glass, or anything like that. Why do they keep showing cocci signs, and I'm sure that's it because after I treat it goes away, why does it keep coming back? Any suggestions I'm scouring the merks manual and other poultry books but not getting anywhere. Thanks for any help or suggestionsp
