I've decided to grow these shrubs/small trees as a source of feed for my flock because I've heard it mentioned in a few sources:

http://www.pfaf.org/leaflets/peatree.php
http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/duke_energy/Caragana_arborescens.html
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/38171/
Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether or not it would be a good feed source? The reason I hesitate is because I think I read in "Raising Chickens for Dummies" that one should strictly limit the amount of dried beans and peas that one feeds there chickens.
What does everyone think?
Thanks!
Tony
