Catnip?

Can chickens eat catnip? Ours were outside the other day picking at it and eating a bit of it, I'm just wanting to know if this is ok. I've put chicken wire around it till I know for sure, but I'd like to take it off because we had it where the cats could get to a side of it. You can see how it was in the pic.

I can't tell you that it's scientifically proven to be okay, but one day I went outside and my entire catnip plant was BARE. It's been over a month and everyone is fine.

Mine have been eating the catnip too, no problems yet.

If they start meowing, I'll be worried.
