Short story is there was 14 eggs one day under the tree ... next day there was 8 and day after it was down to 4 eggs, so we moved the eggs into a lockup with a broody hen ... only one hatched !!!

Hi All!

I am new to this site.... I see it is very informational!

This is my first time incubating duck eggs.

I have 16 Cayuga eggs in my incubator 2nd day.... Temp is 99.5% and Humidity is 52%-55%. Someone please tell me:

1.)how long it takes for them to hatch

2.) On what day does "Lockdown" start

3.) Temp/Humid change during Lockdown

4.) Is misting mandatory (if not what are pros of doing so)

*Also please share with me any other info I need to know for hatching

FYI : I have had duck before, raised from ducklings (we have a huge pond on our property) but they where taken by a fox

I'm thinking of either getting Cayugas or welsh harlequins. I want to get two females and one male. How are Cayugas when it comes to mating season? Do they overbreed the females?

35 days to hatch... day 33 is when you start lockdown .... i aim for 60-70 percent humidity during lockdown

cayuga do not take 35 days they take 28....only Muscovy take 35 days
