cayuga duck thread

Mine start out very dark gray-ish to black when they first start laying in the spring. As the days go by, the shell gets lighter to where they are laying light gray marbled eggs.



This picture best shows the difference between a duck that just started laying compared to one that had been laying for several weeks. And also lots of mud :)





 
We have 3 ducklings that are 3 weeks old today - a Pekin, a Cayuga and a Black Swedish. My daughter has been clicker training them since they were a few days old. It is amazing how quickly they learn! The Cayuga, named Shadow, loves to follow and learn knew tricks. She is really alert and not scared of new things. that guy is Moses. he got the name due to pretty horrific story. long story short, he was saved from the water after a child tried to drown him at 2 weeks old.

here is Teensy, but have been calling her Ezzy short for Esmeralda due to her beauty. these pics are a few weeks old. will post newer ones
