Cedar shavings and chick`s....good or bad ????

I have used cedar shavings with my chickens since day one. As long as it's non treated and dried I think it's fine. I mix straw with my shavings now, gives the chickens more padding when they jump down from the roost or top nesting boxes.

Are you thinking of pine shavings? Cedar IS toxic to chickens, esp red cedar. Apparently white cedar is not as dangerous. I would switch to pine asap.

Yes, it is pine, I used cedar before but it is more expance than pine, that's also when I found out it was harmful to a chicken. I ment to say pine, it's been a long week already:/
But yes cedar is bad for a chickens health and I use pine.
